Final Synthesis Paper
Zosia Stolarchuk

Throughout our explorations and learning’s in Meditation, this was one of my favorite things we got to do. I was able to go to The University of Michigan Museum of Art with Reed and feel the vibrations of real historical pictures. Besides the fact that I love photography and that this is the chance of a lifetime (to get to see real historical pictures in person), feeling the vibrations of the photographs was an extra fun thing to do.
Here are 5 of the 10 pictures that I chose to feel vibrations of:

Name of Picture Photographer Vibrations felt

Lewis Payne Alexander Gardner Both of my hands were hot. No tingling at all. Just completely hot.

A Harvest of Death Timothy H. O’Sullivan My palms and hands were cool, but my fingers all felt tingly

Moonrise, Hernandez, New Mexico, 1941 Ansel Adams My fingers were cool, but my palms were warm.

Tiny, Seattle Mary Ellen Mark My hands were warm and all of my fingers felt tingly.

Gloria Swanson Edward Steichen My hands were cool, and my Middle and Ring fingers were tingly.

These 5 photographs all had different vibrations, which is why I chose to say a little bit about them. Also, each of the photographs was focused on a completely different person, or place. I specifically wanted to include my vibrations on the photograph of Lewis Payne because it was a photograph that I was constantly drawn too – for what reason, I cannot explain. But each time that I went to this photography exhibit (which is three times) I spent a considerable amount of time in front of it. Focusing on the picture of Lewis Payne, both of my hands were hot. I felt nothing but heat. Lewis Payne was a conspirator in the Lincoln assassination, so I figure he would have some sort of extreme anger. This could be the reason why all of the chakras are blocked. To put it simply, this photograph shows extreme unhappiness.
Also, I picked three natural formations to document my vibrations of. Here they are:

Natural Formation Vibrations Felt

Natural Bridges, California My palms were cool, but my fingers were all warm

Grand Canyon My right hand felt especially cool, but my left hand wasn’t as cool. The thumb, right, and index finger of my left hand tingled

Uluru/Ayers Rock Both of my hands felt cool, except my index and pinky fingers remained warm.

Focusing on Ayers Rock, the rock in Australia, the chakra’s that were blocked where the Vishuddhi and the Agnya. The Vishuddhi deals with guilt while the Agnya deals with forgiveness and many other things (such as ego, discrimination, and misidentification). Thinking about the history of Ayers Rock, which should be known as Uluru, I wonder if the history of the Aboriginals has affected Uluru. Since Uluru is thought of as a holy place by the Aboriginals, I wonder if some of the Aboriginals feelings have rubbed off onto this holy place. The horrible treatment of the Aborigines might have cause Uluru to be blocked in these particular places.

Doing this activity helped culminate all of the things I learned – Understanding how a blockage in one, two, or all chakra’s can explain many different things about an object or a persons’ history. All you have to do is understand the basics of what the chakra’s can tell you and you’re able to understand so much more than you did before. This activity brought Meditation full circle, and I can now so I understand Meditation that much more.
